Coolock Gun Seizure Linked To Spiraling Local Feud

A gun seizure in Coolock may be linked to an escalating local feud.

Gardai are continuing to hunt for a man in his 20s who dumped a backpack of guns in the street yesterday.

A submachine gun and four firearms were found in the that was ditched as they chased a man through Ferrycarrig Park.

They were pursuing him after he abandoned his car during a routine traffic stop and ran away.

The guns are being examined by the Garda Ballistics Unit and the manhunt's continuing this morning.

The Herald claims the weapons seizure is linked to a hitman who's been feuding with a major gangland figure in the area.

The paper says criminal underworld reports suggest the serial killer has survived attempts on his life in recent days.
