The 39 million euro redevelopment of the Dominick Street in flats in Dublin will begin within a number of weeks.

72 social homes, ground-floor commercial and community facilities and a basement car park will be built at the site.

Construction was due to start in 2016, with residents due to move in this year, however work never went ahead.

The Irish Times reports that Taoiseach Leo Varadkar will turn the sod at the site within the next two weeks.
