South Dublin Co. Council has raised serious concerns over plans for a major expansion of the Liffey Valley Shopping Centre which includes an ice-rink.
The local authority is worried about the increase in traffic which would be generated by an extension to the facility.
The development of an Olympic sized ice-rink to host international competitions and a multi storey car park would have a significant impact on the N4 and the M50.
The plan has already been raised with the National Transport Authority.
South Dublin Co. Council has ordered a revision of the scheme and the company involved in the expansion has 6 months to respond.
