Injuries from syrings made up some of the 8 million euro in claims paid out by Dublin City Council last year.
Over 1200 payouts were made to members of the public and council staff.
Syringe injuries sustained by workers made up a large portion of claims.
Complaints about broken limbs, facial injuries, shoulder and back pain were also common.
