An Bord Pleanála is considering plans for more than 1,400 homes across the capital.
They include 347 buy-to-rent apartments on the Malahide Road, and 609 apartments and houses on Saggart Road, Co Dublin.
There are also plans for 210 apartments in Killiney, and 257 homes in Kilternan.
Developers lodged the proposals under the new fast-track system.
Under the scheme, developments of more than 100 units can go directly to An Bord Pleanála for planning with a decision made within 16 weeks.
