Fifteen homeless families who the government have been putting up in one of Dublin's most iconic hotels have been told it's check-out time.
The Gresham on O'Connell Street has decided that it will no longer accept homeless payments from Dublin City Council.
The owners of the hotel say it's not up to them to solve the homeless crisis, and are deciding to cater solely for tourist stays and other private visitors.
Inner City Helping Homeless has admitted that rising tourism numbers are pushing many families out of their hotel accommodation.
One homeless woman, named Celine, has been living at the Gresham with her 15 year old son for 14 months.
She said it's "basically my home now, I've made it my home. I know it's only one room, but you kind of get settled".
She said that she feels like she is being made homeless again, "I don't know whether I'll be left on the streets or not. We didn't even get much notice. It's been bought and we have to just get out".
Spokesperson Brian McLoughlin says they've been consulting with the Dublin Regional Homeless Executive.
"They are working on getting these families re-accommodated. I'd say some of them will get room in the newly-built family hubs".
However he warned that "some of them may have to source their own accommodation come the end of the month".
