Tobacco, worth up to €7M has been found by customs at Dublin Port.
Casey the dog sniffed it out of a container which had arrived from Rotterdam.
Revenue says all 14 and a half tonnes of the tobacco was in "an unfinished state", and would be worth about €87,000.
If finished and packaged for sale, it could have been sold on for €7M.
Investigations into the attempted importation are ongoing, with a view to prosecution.
