Businesses Like Brown Thomas Concerned About Transport Plan

Businesses are raising concerns about a radical new transport plan for Dublin city centre.

There are plans to reallocate road space from private cars to buses, cyclists and pedestrians.

The proposals have been overwhelming endorsed but the operators of Guinness Brewery and, Brown Thomas are among those raising concerns .

Richard Guiney from Dublin Town says there are questions about deliveries and parking.

''There is still a lot more consultation to be done with the public and businesses communities. The issues that have been raised by the business community are things that were experienced on Capel Street. Issues around deliveries, waste collection and services like plumbing. All of these are very solvable but they will take more work.''
