Two former students from the School of Animation at Ballyfermot College are aiming for Oscar glory this Sunday.
Tomm Moore and Paul Young are shortlisted for Best Animated Feature for their film, Song of the Sea.
This is the second time Tomm Moore has been nominated for an Academy Award. In 2009, he was shortlisted for his work on The Secret of Kells.
Head of Animation at the school Dr. Mark Byrne told 98FM that this isn't the first time past pupils have noticed by Hollywood for their skills.
"Cathal Gaffney for Give up your Auld Sins, Nicky Phelan in Brown Bag for Granny O'Grimm, Darragh O'Connell for Granny O'Grimm" have all been shortlisted, he told us.
One former pupil won an Oscar four years ago. Mark told us that Richard Baneham took home a gold statue "for his work doing the special effects on Avatar."
Song of the Sea has some tough competition on Sunday. It's up against films like Big Hero 6 and The Boxtrolls for the coveted golden statue.
