A man has been arrested by Gardai investigating the murder of a well known criminal in Tallaght.
Michael Devoy was shot dead and dumped on an isolated road in January 2014.
The 42-year-old was released from prison just two days before his body was found on the Foxhill Road near Bohernabreena in Tallaght.
Gardai on a routine patrol stumbled upon the body after disturbing two men acting suspiciously on the secluded roadway at around 11pm on Jan 18 2014.
The two men sped off in a silver car. Gardai gave chase but lost them and found Mr. Devoy’s body when they returned the scene.
The father of two was wearing a bullet proof vest but had been shot several times in the head.
This morning, Gardai investigating his murder arrested a man in his 20s in the city centre and he’s being questioned at Tallaght Garda Station.
