The Army bomb squad has made safe a dodgy device in the west of the city.
It was found in the garden of a home in Ronanstown by the owner, and may have been there for some time.
The bomb disposal team arrived on scene at around 8.30 yesterday evening and evacuated a number of houses.
The device was taken apart without the need for a controlled explosion and the area was declared safe at 9.30pm.
