An Irish amateur boxer has been sentenced to a year behind bars after admitting he threatened to put a bullet in a woman’s head.
20 year old Aaron Kelly from Hill View in Balinteer also punched the woman’s son. The woman said her home has become a prison ever since this happened.
She had just come back from the women’s mini marathon when the accused came to her door looking for her son – who was a drug dealer. He became verbally abusive and told her there ‘was a bullet for her head and a bullet for his knee’
Over a month later, the accused then punched her son damaging his nose and his tooth came loose. The court heard the accused is a former Irish amateur boxer who has represented Ireland in the super heavyweight division.
He was sentenced to 2 and a half months for the public order threat and a year for the assault which will run at the same time.
