Secondary school teachers across the country are to be taught how to deal with the deaths of pupils by suicide.

The Education Minister has announced a new training scheme which will show teachers how to help students deal with other 'critical incidents.'

SafeTALK is an internationally recognised programme that will be rolled out over the next two years.

Richard Bruton says it "stresses safety while challenging taboos that inhibit open talk about suicide."
