Union reps and management at Aer Lingus will hold talks today in the row over cabin crew rosters.
IMPACT members staged a one-day strike last Friday, causing massive disruption over the bank holiday weekend.
More than 200 flights were cancelled on Friday, disrupting the travel plans of up to 40 thousand people.
The trade union IMPACT called the strike because cabin crew say they are frustrated and exhausted from working erratic rosters.
They want a rostering arrangement of 5 days on and 3 days off, similar to the work pattern of Aer Lingus pilots.
The pilots union IALPA has come out in support of their IMPACT colleagues.
Last week Aer Lingus invited the union to talks, they accepted but it wasn't enough for them to call of Friday's strike.
Aer Lingus retaliated for the work stoppage by stripping cabin crew of the heavy discounts they get on unfilled seats.
This came just yesterday, on the Eve of talks, a sign that the airline is ready to play hard ball.
But the union did not respond to the latest move by the airline, IMPACT says it will not comment until after today's talks.
The meeting between the union and Aer Lingus kicks off at half past one this afternoon.
