The government is this evening expected to confirm it's selling its stake in Aer Lingus.
The Taoiseach has told the Dáil that he expects the government will make a decision on Aer Lingus this evening, describing it as "in the best interests of the country".
IAG, the parent company of British Airways, wants to buy the airline for €1.4BN.
A document by an expert group is understood to be 'strongly supportive' of the bid and it comes after the European Commission raised no objections to the takeover.
Enda Kenny says the matter is up for discussion but he won't comment on when a final decision will be made.
