Met Eireann has issued a weather warning for today - with high winds causing travel disruption to a number of ferries.

Irish ferries have cancelled a number of swift ferries today between Dublin and Holyhead, but other lines are operating as scheduled.

Dermot Merrigan from Irish Ferries says they're trying to accomodate all passengers;

Meanwhile, AA Roadwatch is reporting widespread black ice on the country's roads this morning.

The worst affected areas are in north Dublin and around the Dublin/Wicklow Mountains

Very poor conditions around Stepaside and Glencullen areas. Take extreme care while driving.

Slippery conditions on the R132 between Balbriggan and Balrothery.
