Gardaí investigating the murder of a young man in Tallaght have arrested a minor.

Adam Muldoon's body was found by a passer-by walking their dog at Jobstown Park on the Cheeverstown Rd at around 6:30am on Saturday.

The 23-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene and it's believed he may have suffered a violent death.

Following a post mortem at the morgue in Whitehall, Gardaí launched a murder investigation.

They have since confirmed that a boy has been arrested in relation to the incident and is being detained at Tallaght Garda Station.

Meanwhile the scene of the incident remains sealed off and a forensic examination has been carried out by officers from the Garda Technical Bureau.

Searches at the site in Jobstown Park are continuing and Gardai are appealing to anyone who was in area, also known locally as Butler Park, between 11pm on Friday and 6:30am on Saturday, to contact their incident room at Tallaght Garda Station.

They are also appealing to motorists who traveled along Cheeverstown Road between those times and may have dash cam footage to come forward.
