German riot police have arrested around 400 protesters outside a conference of the right-wing Alternative for Germany party.
Police moved in at the venue in Stuttgart, as clashes erupted between left-wing activists and AfD delegates.
Demonstrators burned tyres and threw firecrackers, while riot police used pepper spray to hold off the protesters.
The protesters were highlighting the group's plan to adopt an anti-Islamic manifesto at the conference.
