Gardai have arrested 2 men and a teenager in south Dublin in connection with an aggravated burglary which left an elderly couple traumatised.

The assault happened in Roscrea Co Tipperary on May 7th.

A 94 year old man was hit by his own walking stick and his wife left terrified when thieves broke into the house through a side window and stole cash.

The victim was taken to the Midlands Regional Hospital in Portlaoise suffering from head injuries.

This week, a 28 year old man was arrested in Sallynoggin on Monday while a 17 year old male and a 34 year old man were arrested in Dun Laoghaire yesterday.

Gardai are investigating if they are connected to a roaming burglary gang.

The suspects are being questioned at garda stations in north Tipperary in relation to the aggravated burglary.
