More than 100 puppies have been rescued at Dublin Port.

They were found inside two vehicles, which were on their way to the UK.

The DSPCA is now looking after them, and says most of the puppies were a variety of small breeds.

This is the first case, involving a large number of companion animals, to be seized under the new Animal Health and Welfare Act.
