The house that inspired the Disney movie Up is going up for auction later this month. This little house was made famous by the owner Edith Macefield who refused to sell her house to developers in 2005. She was offered €1 million to vacate her home to make way for a new shopping centre but refused which forced them to build around the house. It was due to this story that Disney created the popular movie Up.

She stood strong in her decision and watched as the high rise building towered over her house. When asked about whether the noise was affecting her she said "I went through World War II, the noise doesn't bother me," she said in October. "They'll get it done someday."

Edith died in 2008 and has now fallen into disrepair and foreclosure under the hands of the current owner. As a result it's going up for auction on April 20th and is likely to be demolished.

Hundreds of people are shown up at the house to pay their respect to Edith and decorate it with balloons just like the movie.
