Newspaper drama Spotlight has won best picture at the 88th Academy Awards. Leonardo DiCaprio has won his first Oscar for The Revenant - while best actress went to Brie Larson for Room, written by Irish Author Emma O Donoghue and produced by Irish film company element pictures.
The Irish film Stutterer won in the the best live action short, category. The singer Sam Smyth won best original song for the Bond theme Writing's On The Wall.
Dublin director Benjamin Cleary has won the oscar for Best Live Action short at the Acadamy Awards overnight.
