Total War: Three Kingdoms gets bloody DLC

Total War: Three Kingdoms has just gotten its first piece of DLC*, and it’s a bloody and gory affair.

Reign of Blood adds in a host of gory additions such as “Human dismemberment, Equine dismemberment, Charred bodies, Blood sprays on weapon impacts” and more wholesome changes.

You can adjust the intensity and amount of blood with a sliding scale in the menus if you want to see some blood but are a tad squeamish about it.

Reign of Blood costs €2.99 which raises the question why does a mature game called Total War, which includes a fair amount of you know, war, have a price barrier for the bloody details of said war?

A lot of fans aren’t happy about having to pay for it and thus the Steam reviews for the DLC are currently sitting at “mixed.”

*The Yellow Turban Rebellion launched alongside the game so doesn't really count.
