500 people will attend an outdoor concert in Dublin tonight - in the first trial event taking place outdoors this summer.

It's the country's first gig with a live audience in 15 months, and is taking place in Iveagh Gardens from 7 o'clock.

Dublin singer-songwriter James Vincent McMorrow will be the star performer.

Organisers Promise Public Health Guidelines Will Be Followed

It's being run by the National Concert Hall - and chief executive Robert Read says precautions will be taken.

As well as staggered entry and departure times, attendees will have to stay within their own designated spot.

"We have pods marked out in the lawn, 150-180 of those, so people can be contained within a small perimeter."

Mr Read said this evening will be a "historic occasion".

He's promised very high standards of public safety measures will be ensured.
