The Government has announced plans for up to 16 trial sporting events with spectators.

That full list is available at the bottom of this page.

The Government's Working Group has published guidelines for sports grounds today, with the aim of bringing fans back to tournaments.

The first trial events take place this Friday, with two football matches in Cork and Dublin, and a rugby match also in the Capital.

They'll Start Small And Expand Later

Minister for State for Sport, Jack Chambers says they'll start small for the moment:

"So we're looking at about 5-10% for the pilot events, of capacity."

"But I'm confident we'll be able to significantly increase that over the summer so we can have much bigger numbers at our matches across the country."

"It's about building confidence in the safe return of spectators and building a controlled environment."
