More than 90 people have died during severe floods in Germany and Belgium.

Germany's Chancellor, Angela Merkel says the situation's a "catastrophe" - over 1,000 others are still missing.

Among the worst-hit German villages was Schuld, where several homes collapsed.

No Power And No Phone Signal

Andreas Mueller lives there and had to wait hours to know his in-laws were safe:

"Overnight we were upstairs and it was dark because there was no light, no power."

"There was also no phone connection, we tried to reach them [in-laws] all night."

"It was very hard to get them."
