British Formula One driver Lando Norris was mugged after attending Sunday's Euro 2020 final between England and Italy at Wembley Stadium.

The incident occurred as the McClaren driver approached his car after the game and the 21-year-old had his watch stolen.

A statement read: "McLaren Racing can confirm that Lando Norris was involved in an incident, after the Euro 2020 final match at Wembley, during which the watch he was wearing was taken.

Thankfully, Lando was unharmed but he is understandably shaken. The team is supporting Lando and we are sure that racing fans will join us in wishing him all the best for the British Grand Prix this weekend.

As this is now a police matter we cannot comment further."

It's been reported that the stolen watch was worth €45,000 and Norris was left shaken after the incident.

The Metropolitan Police made 83 arrests during and after the European Championship final as a huge crowd gathered around Wembley for England's first final at a major tournament in 55 years.

53 of those arrests came at Wembley Stadium where a group of ticketless fans breached security and gained access into the ground before the match.

Nineteen police officers were injured, including one who lost a tooth in the disorder, while another suffered a broken hand.
