Singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran will kick off his Mathematics Tour this weekend with two nights in Croke Park.

Preparations are well underway for the gig which will be the first at full capacity in the stadium since 2019.

Gates open at 4 pm today, and the Bad Habits singer is due on stage at 8 pm.

Concert goers are advised to have their phones fully charged, as all tickets are digital.

Garda superintendent Martin Mooney is advising fans to plan their journey and use public transport:

"In advance of the concert there tonight and tomorrow, we ask that patrons plan their journey in advance and we ask them to make use of public transport

"If they are using cars there's only one car park in the environment of Croke Park and that's O'Connells School and after that, it's only a car park spot around the city centre."

Concert goers coming by coach are being advised they will have a 25 to 35-minute walk to GAA HQ.

Gardai, along with Dublin City Council and the concert promoters, have set up space for 120 coaches on Collins Avenue near the Whitehall Colmcille GAA club.

Supt. Mooney says this has been done to prevent chaos in other areas closer to the city:

"In the past, we had coaches parking there on Alfie Byrne Road and that caused problems with our cyclists there. They were parking up on the cycle laneways.

"And also then coaches would park around Mountjoy Square and again that was causing problems withcausing traffic congestion, obstruction there and complaints in from the neighbours."
