Supermarkets are utilising Santa experiences to 'fleece families further'.

That's the view of the Chairman of the Consumers' Association of Ireland.

Figures in today's Irish Daily Mail show many places are charging parents €6, just to supervise their children visiting the man in red.

Michael Kilcoyne, Chairman of the Consumers' Association of Ireland, says retailers charging high prices to visit Santa is inconsiderate in the cost of living crisis.

He said: "It shows that these supermarkets don't have much regard for their customers.

"They've been charged very high prices all year; we know what's been happening with food inflation. Now the are using this opportunity to fleece families further."
