Hugh Jackman says he'd be up for doing a sequel to The Greatest Showman.

During a recent interview with BBC Radio 5 Live, the actor - who plays P.T. Barnum in the film - said:

"If a genuine opportunity came up where it felt like the right thing to do, then yep, I'd get the top hat back out."

The film was made by 21st Century Fox but is currently in the process of being bought by Disney.

"We have a situation in the business where the company that did it has been sold to Disney, so there are a lot of spinning plates right now", he continued.

"I'm not sure what they would do, but it did take a while to get the first one up, and it's not to be underestimated how difficult it is to get a musical up and going.

"But it's clear to me and to everyone that people love these characters. I loved this movie, I loved this character and it was one of the great joys of my life."

For those who haven't seen the film, The Greatest Showman "celebrates the birth of show business and tells of a visionary who rose from nothing to create a spectacle that became a worldwide sensation".

Jackman announced his first ever world tour back in November. He will perform songs from musicals such as The Greatest Showman and Les Misérables with a live orchestra.

'Hugh Jackman - The Man. The Music. The Show' comes to 3Arena on May 30th and 31st.

Meanwhile, a sing-along screening of The Greatest Showman has been announced for 98FM's Retro Drive-In Movies.
