8,914 People Needed Emergency Accommodation In December

8,914 people accessed emergency accommodation in December 2021, a drop of 2% on the previous month.

Of those, 2,451 were children, which also represents nearly 4% decrease on November's figures.

9,099 people in emergency accommodation in November, including 2,548 children.

The Department of Housing statistics also reveals 1,077 families required homeless accommodation last month, a drop of 31 compared to November.

The figures don't include rough sleepers, women in refuge centres and those in direct provision.
