Conor McGregor has issued an apology, after footage of him using the word “faggot” went viral.
At UFC Fight Night in Gdansk, McGregor's training partner Artem Lobov was competing against Andre Fili.
Following Lobov's loss by unanimous decision, the Dubliner was filmed consoling his teammate, but labelled the victor of the contest a "faggot" on multiple occasions.
Many fans were shocked and disappointed by his comments as SBG Ireland, the gym Conor trains at, were vocal supporters of marriage equality when a referendum was put to the Irish public in 2015.
