Lions head coach Warren Gatland has told the media that Robbie Henshaw's tour of New Zealand could be over after a shoulder injury he sustained in this morning's 31-31 draw against the Hurricanes.
Gatland told it how it is in his post-match conference: “Henshaw is in a sling. He doesn’t look good. There is a good chance his tour could be over.”
The Leinster centre was replaced in the 20th minute by Leigh Halfpenny and this injury has all but ended his chances of featuring in the Test 23 that Gatland will selecting for the upcoming clashes against the All Blacks.
The 24-year-old Westmeath native faced an uphill battle to secure a place in the test squad given the impressive performances of both Ben Te'o and Jonathon Davies, but this is not the way anyone would have wanted to see Henshaw's first tour come to an end.
