Manchester City defender and Irish international Megan Campbell has signed a contract extension that will keep her at the club for at least another 12 months.
The 23 year old joined the club in February 2016 but missed much of the season through injury. She returned for the 2017 Spring Series and City's FA Cup win, scoring once and contributing four assists.
Campbell told ManCity.com:
“I’m pleased with the way I performed in the Spring Series and FA Cup but I wouldn’t have been able to do it without the team.I’ve been trying to get back to full fitness, increasing my gametime. I’ve done everything I could to prove I was good enough to stay in the squad."
City boss Nick Cushing is aware of the potential that the Drogheda native possesses:
“Megan is a young player with a lot of potential,” he said. “She has come back from injury stronger than ever and shown everyone what she can offer on the pitch. I have been delighted with her performances in the games she played in 2017 and I look forward to having her on the team once again when we kick off the new season.”
