Double All-Ireland winner with club and county Ger Brennan told 98FM Sport's Stephen Doyle a gas story about a team-mate eating a whole block of cheese in five minutes - for money!
Ger appears on 98FM's On The Hill podcast every Thursday but before the lads got stuck into previewing the clash with Mayo this weekend, the former Dublin defender had an old team bus tale to tell.
"There was always good craic on the way back [from matches]", Ger chuckled.
He took us back to the early part of Pat Gilroy's tenure when the Dubs panel were staying in Inchydoney the night before a big game. The Boys in Blue were taken on a tour of the Dubliner Cheese factory in West Cork.
"We all got a bit of a goodie bag leaving the factory so there's bits of Dubliner cheese in there and everything else. As you know, most GAA players, they're either students or teachers so there's not a lot of funds coming in.
"One lad in particular, a few of us put a fiver each into the pot which came to 50 euro and we gave him five minutes to eat one block of cheese, Dubliner Cheese, in one go! A big block of cheese! And he did it!"
The poor sod may have pocketed the cash but he didn't sleep too well that night!
"He said he was up having nightmares all night and he played awful the next day", laughed Ger.
Crucially, Ger revealed, "He's still on the panel!!"
