FIFA have confirmed that they will pay Seamus Coleman's wages, while he recovers from a double leg-break.
The Republic of Ireland captain suffered the injury after a nasty challenge from Neil Taylor, as the Boys in Green drew with Wales in their World Cup qualifier on Friday.
He could be out until 2018 as a result.
However, Everton won’t need to pay the defender’s wages during his absence.
Coleman's pay, believed to be around €58,000-a-week, is covered by FIFA's Club Protection Programme.
