Roy Keane has questioned Wayne Rooney’s reportedly imminent move to China.
Reports today claim Rooney’s agent is in China to speak to clubs trying to sign the striker from Manchester United.
The Chinese transfer window closes on Tuesday, but it's likely Rooney will stay at Old Trafford until the end of the season.
However, his former United captain Keane isn’t happy about the potential move.
Speaking on ITV’s coverage of the Champions League last night, Keane says Rooney has plenty more to offer in the English or European game:
Continuing reports over the last few months suggest Rooney’s replacement at United could be Antoine Griezmann.
The Frenchman became Atletico Madrid’s all-time leading goalscorer in the Champions League, in their 4-2 win over Bayer Leverkusen on Tuesday night.
And Keano’s a fan:
Keane also had a dig at Jose Mourinho’s “cockiness”.
United’s form has improved in recent months, which has led to Mourinho get his old swagger back.
But Keano- in his usual blunt self- hasn’t exactly welcomed that.
"It's a pity really”, he said.
“The guy should show humility, but he's back to his cocky self.
Keano at his best!
