Ian Madigan could be set to leave France, after just one season.
Reports this morning in French newspaper Midi-Olympique say the former Leinster star has asked to be released from the final year of his contract at Bordeaux Begles.
The Dubliner only moved to the Top 14 side last summer on a two-year deal, but has struggled for game time, with injuries hampering him.
He has also missed out on Ireland squads since his move abroad, with Johnny Sexton, Paddy Jackson, Ian Keatley and Joey Carbery all now ahead of him in Joe Schmidt’s out-half pecking order.
Schmidt explained his reasoning for omitting Madigan last month.
It's thought Madigan has several offers to move to the Aviva Premiership.
