Catalan Flag Could Soon Fly Over Dublin City Hall
Councillors in Dublin have voted in favour of a motion to fly the Catalan flag over City Hall for a month.
People Before Profit Councillor John Lyons put forward the motion to show Dublin's solidarity with Catalonia.
The motion was put forward at a protocol meeting of Dublin City councillors this morning and will now be voted on by all members of the council at the monthly meeting at the start of December.
Lyons highlighted that Dublin is a twinned city with Barcelona:
"the motion is calling on Dublin City Council to raise the Catalan flag for one month in an act of solidarity with the people of Barcelona which is a twin city of Dublin city coming up on 20 years, we've been twinned with Barcelona since 1998."
