Rail Drivers Could Strike Over Christmas Season
Train drivers could strike on Christmas Eve.
Rail strikes are now being planned for the 24th December, and the two weekends before the festive season.
Yesterday train drivers downed tools for 24 hours in a bid to get the same pay rise as Luas and bus drivers.
Four more strikes are planned for the 7th, 14th and 23rd november as well as the 8th December.
This morning the Herald reports that further strikes could be on the way for the 16th, 17th, 23rd and 24th December.
These dates will affect both shoppers and people travelling home for the holidays.
Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has now said workers will end up with a deal that "will probably be no different that if there's been no strike at all."
