New York Teacher Responds To Book Appeal For Dublin School
A secondary school in a disadvantaged area of Dublin has launched an appeal for books.
O'Connell's on North Richmond Street in Drumcondra says it needs support since many of their pupils do not have English as their first language.
John Menton the school's librarian says donations are pouring in from across the globe;
"We had three deliveries of boxes, the postage alone cost over $240, from a high school teacher from Pleasantville, New York.
The teacher wrapped up the books in copies of the New York Post and the pupils got great enjoyment looking at the headlines."
