2400 Children Are Homeless In Dublin
For the first time ever, there are over three thousand homeless children in Ireland. That's despite a small drop in the number of homeless families in Dublin.
The latest official statistics show there are are almost 2400 homeless children in Dubin.
There has been a small drop in the number of Dublin families in hotels and B&Bs, but the Simon Community says the figures across the country are still record breaking.
It comes as Dublin City Council asks for another 10 million euro for the long awaited Dominick Street regeneration. It means that 32 million euro in funding is needed for 72 social housing apartments.
Meanwhile, there are more delays to the remodeling of an old Bargaintown showroom in Coolock for the homeless.
It will be December before people can be moved out of hotels into one of 19 family hubs planned for the city.
