The German retailer plans to open up to 50 more stores across Ireland.
If these plans go ahead, this will bring the total number of stores to 200.
Currently Lidl have 152 stores across the 32 Counties, with the latest addition to the super-chain opening today in Dublin.
In an interview with the Irish Independent, managing director John Paul Scally says:
"We're not going to stop until we have Lidl stores in close proximity to everyone in the country."
With a recently opened store in Cabra and as of today Portmarnock; it is further hoped they'll open stores in Grangegorman and Drumcondra too.
