A cluster of electric cabling boxes for the Luas at College Green is being likened to a mini stonehenge.
The city council is being slammed for not putting the boxes, near Trinity, under ground.
They're needed for the cross city Luas line but don't appear in plans for a civic plaza submitted to planners in May.
The Dublin Civic Trust is hitting out at the city council for not putting the cabling underground and is likening the boxes to a group of giant milk cartons.
In a statement to 98FM News, Dublin City Council has said the "cabinets are required infrastructure and contain equipment such as electricity supply, traffic control equipment, a Luas Automatic Vehicle Locator System, fibre optic and CCTV cabling."
The local authority says two of the boxes will soon become redundant and the design team will explore the feasibility of relocating the others.
