A six year old boy who was seriously injured in a crash in Shankhill has died.
He was hit by a van on the Shanganagh Road just before 5pm on Friday evening. The van was travelling in the direction of Shankill village.
The boy was taken to Temple Street Children's Hospital, where he passed away today.
The driver of the van was interviewed and the road of was closed for a time on Friday. Gardaí are asking anyone who was in the area and has information about the collision to contact them at Shankill Garda Station.
It brings to two the number of people killed in road collisions in the city this weekend. In the early hours of this morning, a male motorcyclist in his 30s died in a collision on the Old Cabra Road.
