Solicitors representing Paddy Jackson and Stuart Olding say they strenuously deny allegations of rape.
The Ireland rugby internationals are due to stand trial up north in relation to an alleged offence last year.
Last November the PSNI confirmed they had been questioned about an alleged rape in Belfast in June 2016.
Lawyers for Paddy Jackson say he totally rejects the claims while Stuart Olding's solicitor says he's also anxious to clear his name.
Acting for the full back, Joe Rice added he was disappointed prosecutors had decided to take legal action more than a year after the original complaint.
Two other men are also facing trial on lesser charges.
