The man arrested in connection with the alleged rape of a Spanish teen in Dublin 4 at the weekend had been ordered by a judge to stay out of the city centre.
The 18-year-old woman told Gardaí she was attacked near Sandymout Strand after initially meeting a man on the boardwalk.
It's understood they were walking in the Pigeon House Road area when the alleged rape took place.
A 24-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday. He has since been released without charge.
The suspect had been on bail for criminal damage charges with strict conditions about where he could go.
Crime Editor with the Irish Sun, Stephen Breen says detectives are trying to trace his movements on CCTV and are due to carry out house to house inquirie.
"But Gardai are also asking any witnesses who may have seen a couple, ill at ease or perhaps who looked out of place."
