Northside residents, particularly in Darndale, are being "plagued" by the problem of joyriding according to local reps.
There are calls for Gardai to crackdown on the illegal behaviour by a small gang of individuals.
Sinn Fein TD Denise Mitchell says "several times in recent weeks a number of cars have been stolen and driven at high speeds through this residential area all night and into the early hours of the morning, with the cars then being burned-out and blocking drives and roads."
Sinn Fein councillors say they have repeatedly raised the issue at the area's Joint Policing Committee.
They claim local residents are feeling ignored by gardai and are calling on the government to reverse cuts to the force's anti-drugs unit.
"The gardaí need to have all the resources they need to get a handle on this immediately.”
