An ice cream shortage will hit parts of North County Dublin later today.
A planned power outage to facilitate works will affect businesses trading in the area, particularly Howth.
Ann's of Howth on the East Pier has told the Irish Times she has no option but to close for the day, because not even her coffee machine can be used without electricity.
"This is the sort of business where you make hay while the sun shines, and we could be down €2,500 if it's a day like (yesterday.)"
The Abbey Tavern in the town has also said it will have to close for lunch but hopes to reopen after 5.
The King Sitric restaurant is staying open and hoping for the best saying "We find the ESB sends out these notifications and then nothing happens."
