Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following the discovery of a woman's body in West Dublin yesterday. The remains which were found at Coolmine Woods between Clonsilla and Blanchardstown, and it's believed they had been there for some time.
The find was made by Gardai searching for a woman who'd been reported missing in the area since last month. 29 year old Linda Christian was reported missing on the 24th of June but it's not known if the badly decomposed remains found yesterday belong to her. Neither is it known how long the body was lying in the undergrowth near Coolmine.
The State Pathologist has carried out a preliminary examination at the scene and a full post mortem is due to take place later today.
Gardai say they are keeping an open mind but one line of inquiry is that the remains belong to a local woman who had been reported missing in the area last month. 29 year old Linda Christian disappeared on the 24th of June.
When last seen, she had been wearing a green bomber jacket and carrying a pink gym bag. Just last Saturday gardai issued a fresh appeal for information on her whereabouts saying her family were very concerned for her welfare.
Technical officers are at the scene which has been sealed off.
